Bloomberg’s financial news site has recently announced the roadmap of Window 8. According to a report on this site, Microsoft is planning to finish up Windows 8 this summer, in time to officially launch it in October. As promised before, Windows 8 will operate on the CPU bases of both ARM and Intel when being unveiled. There are 5 ARM- based devices and 40 Intel- based devices will be launched. Microsoft has not announced a specific ship date for Windows 8, but the reported timeframe would completely be in keeping with Microsoft’s previous Windows 7 roadmap. Windows 7 was finished up on July 21, 2009, and Microsoft began shipping Windows 7 on Oct. 22, 2009.

Bloomberg also indicated that the proposed ship dates would allow Microsoft’s partners to manufacture these devices on the occasion of the coming Christmas. Especially, ARM- based tablets are assured to attract the attention of all IT experts and the users as soon as its appearance on the market. On the other hand, Nokia has already indicated that it intends to be one of the first to ship a Windows 8 tablet – and, the report pointed out, that tablet would ship in the fourth quarter at the earliest.

At the previous weekend, Steve Felice- Dell’s Chief Commercial Officer also revealed that they are testing new tablets running onMicrosoft’s forthcoming Windows 8 operating system. Following this, Dell is planning its tablet strategy on Windows 8, which would be mainly concentrated on IT enterprises.
